Jenn Whitley is a Board Certified Dance/Movement Therapist and Licensed Creative Arts Therapist who enjoys working with individuals with ADHD, anxiety, autism spectrum disorder, eating disorders, medical illness, trauma, grief, and parenting challenges.
She also provides group therapy for grieving individuals and offers supervision for budding dance/movement therapists. Her therapeutic approach incorporates Hypnosis, EMDR, Authentic Movement, Meaning-Centered Psychotherapy, Reiki Level 1 & 2, Pediatric MBSR approaches, Mindfulness, and TeleMental Healthcare.
Jenn's passions are rooted in the embodiment of a person's experiences, using the creative process as a tool to provide an understanding of one's environment, attachments in relationships, and ultimately the individual.
With a Bachelor's degree in Speech and Language Pathology and a Master's degree in Dance Therapy, Jenn brings extensive specialized training to her work, including EMDR Basic Training, Authentic Movement, Pediatric MBSR approaches, TeleMental Healthcare, Meaning-Centered Psychotherapy, and the Ways of Seeing Approach. She has spent 12 years at Dancing Dialogue and 13 years at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center, bringing deep expertise in using dance/movement therapy in medical and cancer care settings. She also supports clients dealing with trauma, cancer and medical illness, ADHD, and provides parenting support.
Jenn hopes clients feel seen and heard, not just from the words they share, but from their whole being. Clients experience an integrative approach that combines body-based knowledge with creative and relational approaches, enabling them to express themselves fully.
Outside the therapy room, Jenn loves to travel, going to the beach, hiking, swimming, and forest bathing.
• Jenn incorporates Reiki into her practice, offering a unique healing modality that complements traditional dance/movement therapy and supports clients' holistic wellness.
• Her pioneering use of dance/movement therapy work in cancer care brings specialized expertise to clients facing medical illness, drawing on 13 years of experience at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center.
• Trained in the discipline of Authentic Movement, Jenn incorporates this deeply reflective practice into her work, helping clients access their inner wisdom and creative expression. She works with all ages, from infancy to adulthood, bringing developmental understanding to each stage of life.
