CAREERS
Shape the Future of Healing
Join a team that believes in the power of embodied experience to create lasting change.
At Dancing Dialogue, we've created something rare:
A practice where the body leads the way to healing.
While many therapists speak about the mind-body connection, we embrace the body-mind connection, honoring that felt experiences often hold the wisdom our words cannot yet express.
Our practice spans two beautiful studio spaces in New York City and Cold Spring, where natural light and thoughtful design create environments that invite presence and transformation. Here, therapy becomes a dialogue between movement and stillness, expression and reflection, strength and softness.
We serve clients from infancy through older adulthood, offering specialized expertise in areas that many practices cannot address. Our team brings together dance/movement therapy, art therapy, EMDR, and trauma-informed care, creating a collaborative environment where each therapist's unique gifts contribute to our collective strength.
Why Work for
Dancing Dialogue
✔ A Practice Built on Beauty and Healing
Our spaces reflect our values. Whether in our Manhattan studio or our Cold Spring location, you'll work in environments designed to support both therapist and client well-being. These aren't ordinary office spaces. They're sanctuaries where creativity and healing naturally unfold.
✔ Serving Diverse Populations
Our clients range from infants experiencing their first attachments to adults navigating life's most profound challenges. You'll work with families, couples, individuals, and groups. You'll see people of all ages, backgrounds, and experiences. This diversity keeps the work dynamic, meaningful, and endlessly revealing.
✔ Expertise That Goes Deeper
You'll join a team recognized for addressing what others cannot. From preverbal trauma to infant mental health, from embodied creative expression to attachment across the lifespan, our work reaches places that words alone cannot touch. Your specialized training will be valued, utilized, and continuously developed.
✔ Professional Development & Growth
We invest in our team's continued learning. From specialized training opportunities to conference presentations, from collaborative case discussions to mentorship relationships, your professional development remains central to our practice culture.
✔ Collaboration as Foundation
Every team member brings essential expertise. Dr. Suzi Tortora's innovative work in dance/movement therapy and infant mental health, Dr. Renee Ortega's international psychology background, and Jennifer Sterling's trauma-informed specializations create a learning environment where growth is constant and support is genuine.
We meet regularly to discuss approaches, share insights, and ensure every client receives the full benefit of our collective wisdom. Your voice will matter. Your perspective will shape how we serve our community.
Who Should Apply
We seek therapists who understand that healing happens through multiple channels. Perhaps you've experienced how a gesture can communicate what a sentence cannot. Maybe you've witnessed transformation through creative expression, embodied awareness, or the subtle dynamics of nonverbal communication. You Might Be a Good Fit If You:
✔ You're drawn to populations others find challenging.
Preverbal experiences, attachment disruptions, trauma that predates language, these areas intrigue rather than intimidate you. You recognize that specialized populations require specialized training, and you're committed to developing that expertise.
✔ You hold or are pursuing licensure in creative arts therapy, mental health counseling, or related fields.
Your training may be in dance/movement therapy, art therapy, somatic approaches, or other embodied modalities.
✔ You bring curiosity about the body-mind-emotion continuum.
You understand that therapy begins wherever the client is most alive, whether in sensation, movement, thought, or feeling, and that true healing integrates all dimensions of experience.
✔ You embrace diversity in all its forms.
Our clients come from around the world, representing countless cultural backgrounds, family structures, and life experiences. Cultural humility and ongoing learning about differences inform your clinical work.
✔ You value collaboration over hierarchy.
You see supervision and consultation not as evaluation but as essential support. You're eager to learn from colleagues and generous in sharing your own insights.
✔ You communicate with clarity and compassion.
Whether writing clinical notes, collaborating with medical teams, or speaking with families, you convey complex ideas accessibly while honoring each person's dignity.
