Meaning-Centered Grief Therapy
Grief is layered and complex, and finding a supportive space to openly explore your experience can be an essential part of the healing process. Talking about the loss of a loved one is often difficult, yet creating space to reflect on how loss has impacted your life—and reconnecting with what gives your life meaning—can be deeply restorative.
Meaning-Centered Grief Therapy (MCGT) offers a pathway for individuals to re-establish a sense of meaning after loss. It addresses key challenges in the grieving process and may support those experiencing prolonged grief.
MCGT is designed to help participants:
Make sense of their loss
Discover growth and benefits within their grief journey
Reconnect with a sense of identity and purpose
Explore four core sources of meaning: historical, attitudinal, experiential, and creative
Honor the legacy and meaning in the life of the person who died
This group provides a compassionate, non-judgmental space where participants can feel seen, heard, and understood. Through guided discussions and creative exploration (movement, poetry, writing, and art)we will use creative means to deepen engagement with MCGT concepts.
By drawing on the wisdom of the body and creative expression, we aim to foster resilience and help each participant reconnect with a personal sense of meaning and hope.
