Moving From Within - Freising , Germany

Dear Prospective Participants!

After our very successful first congress in 2007, due to the interesting contributions, the beautiful location, and fruitful international exchange, I am very pleased to announce the second international conference on movement analysis, Moving from Within. The second congress, as the previous one, is aimed at interested people from the fields of dance, therapy, education, and science. This time the focus of the congress will be on movement analysis of interactions.

What can we learn from movement during interactions between caregivers and children, couples, or families? What needs to happen on a body level in order to shape or maintain attachment?

In order to gain insight on new aspects on the work of movement analysis, different instruments will be introduced.

We are not only inviting you to interesting workshops and lectures but also to an exchange with colleagues from around the world. On Sunday we invite you to a dance per-formance with a buffet and dancing afterwards.

The following keynote speakers have confirmed:

Dianne Dulicai:  Nonverbal Assessments of Family Sys- tems and Groups

Trauma and Resilience
In the Lives of Young Children and Their Families

Trauma has profound implications for the mental and physical health of family members and for the development of young children. Whether it’s the “big T” traumas, such as war, serious accidents and incest, or the "little t" traumas, such as ongoing emotional neglect or a family history of alcoholism, trauma impacts children either directly, when children, themselves, are victims, or indirectly, when parents’ trauma is transmitted to their children.

This conference will explore the concept of both trauma and its equally important, but more elusive, counterpart: resilience. Speakers will define trauma and resilience and illustrate through case studies the impact of intra-family traumas, such as abuse, and extra-family traumas, such as those occurring on September 11, 2001.

May 14, 2010 1:45-3:30PM Suzi Tortora will present in the group talk: "Trauma and Resilience in 9/11 Families. A Primary Prevention Project"
